Marketing Intern
The Cancer Project provides comprehensive educational materials, conducts clinical research studies, and publicizes the value of a healthy diet in cancer prevention and survival.
We are seeking a motivated intern to work alongside our marketing manager and learn practical applications of marketing strategy through events, promotions, campaigns, research, and new product development.
General Description
The marketing intern will assist in promoting the mission, products, and services of The Cancer Project through Web marketing, event marketing, product marketing, public relations, and marketing research. Events include the Food for Life Nutrition and Cooking Classes, Party for Life events, and the Cancer and Nutrition Symposium.
Qualifications

Applicants should be pursuing a field of study encompassing marketing and considering a career in the field of marketing.

Prior work experience is preferred.

Applicants should be resourceful, innovative, and productive.

Applicants must have the capability to work in both a team environment and alone with minimal supervision.

Interest in the objectives of the organization and a strong interest in vegetarian/vegan nutrition are required.
Terms
The Cancer Project is located in the Friendship Heights neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Interns may work full- or part-time and can arrange to receive course credit. Fall, spring, and/or summer semester internships are available.
Compensation: $8.25 per hour and housing, if needed and available.
